Cyanotype’s series
The impulse for the idea of this project was chosenthrough the technique that I used.
Due to the fact that Cyanotype was originally used for photoprinting, I associate it
with record-keeping. However, on the other hand, this process looks very magical because of my lack of chemical reactions knowledge. Thanks to this duality, I came to an idea
to document my childhood holiday memories: I had spent summers at grandma’s house
in the countryside, and it never was in Tom Sawyer’s way. No kids except me, no bicycle, no playground,no adventures. Only old people and gardening routine around.
All I could do was to imagine some illusion using the things which I had at my disposal: bottles, planks, random metal pieces and other junk. At that time, I was too young to see the bigger picture and focused more on entertainment, but nowadays, when I remember how it actually was – the village, the people’s mentality and their routine – I find it
as abandoned as that junk I used to play with.
